Take travellers’ cheques if you want, but you are probably better off getting cash out at ATMs in Singapore. Getting foreign cash while in Canada will not get you a good rate.

I don’t know about those countries specifically, but when I’ve needed to change money, I’ve been advised to change to the money I need in the country where it’s used.
