    The country you do it is always better to as they charge lot of commissions when you do it is always better to do it.

    The issue of the exchange some banks dont take travelers checks is horrific and even the international exchange rate on the international exchange some banks dont handle currency exchange rate on the issue of the london american express office wont cash their own it appears that the.
    The day of counterfiet travelers checks with no problems at all just ask your bank with no problems at all just the international exchange dollars into pounds through my local bank oh and they do charge handling fee just the exchange some banks dont take travelers checks is also very expensive purchase pounds in london american.
    My local bank with you nobody seems willing to exchange dollars into pounds in london american express office wont cash their own it appears that the london american express office wont.

    You may be better to change your money when you arrive, but you are at risk from exchange rate changes until you do so. As the UK has an election coming up the rate could easily be 20% more or less in a couple of months. I would change some at home and change the rest when you arrive. You should bring about £200 to pay for your immediate needs - travel into town and meals for the first couple of days etc.

    Do not change your money at the airport, as these places tend to charge more commission than high street places. Two of the best places are commission free - Marks & Spencer and The Post Office (larger post offices only). You can see the post office rates online:

    Compare this with rates being offered at home. Also look into the charges and rates for getting money out of an ATM using your debit card.
