How to raise money for foreign exchange?

Ok so i just asked the question about going to Japan on foreign exchange, and I decided that I DO want to do it. But the money problem still lies and I don’t know how to save $12,000 by my sophomore year. Since I am 14 I can’t hold a part time job, because no one will hire anyone that young. I don’t think asking people for money will help nor fund raising because don’t they take the majority of the profit anyway? Any ideas?

Speak to your guidance counselor. They may be aware of scholarships that could help you out.
