how do I explain to my friend I am losing money in the bad exchange rate when I go to Europe?

I know I’m losing money. however he claims that if it’s 1 to .64 (like it is now) that a clock for 100 dollars over here will be worth 64 dollars so it does not matter what the exchange rate is, just if inflation has not caught up… thats what determines if I loose money.

    For the currentcy exchange rate ie loaf of bread or dozen eggs cost the clock would be worth 64 dollars but your still.

    The exchange rates and try to him then he will understand.
